Mrs. De Los Santos' and Mrs. Portillo's Pre-k Class had so much fun learning about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. After reading, "Who Was Martin Luther King, Jr.?" the students shared ways they can be kind to one another. They drew amazing pictures! Their students know they can be, and can do anything they want!

The Department of Special Education, in collaboration with Jersey City Free Public Library, would like to extend an exciting opportunity to all Jersey City Public School students.
Beginning in January 2021, we are launching “Fun Fridays”. Each month will focus on a unique theme with age-appropriate stories and activities for students.
On Friday, January 8th, 2021 at 10:00 am, a representative from the Cape May Zoo will be presenting on “Animals in the Winter ”.
Please pre-register for each presentation. Attendance is limited to the first 500 people. See The Attached Flyer.

Wednesday, December 23rd is 12:45 dismissal and no afternoon session. Winter Break begins Thursday, December 24th until Monday, January 4th 2021. Classes resume virtually Monday, January 4th.

Due to the winter weather event. Dismissal is at 12:45 P.M. and there will no after-school activities.

We now have our own School app. The School app is available on the iTunes store for Apple devices as well as the Google Play store for android devices. Please search PS 6 Jotham W. Wakeman JC and we should come right up. Our icon is a gold owl outlined in blue. The app is a one stop shop for students and families. We will be creating a video in the New Year to ensure all families are familiar with the many resources the app provides. The app is compatible with phones and tablets at this time.

Beginning tomorrow we will have a 12:45 pm dismissal for students each Wednesday until further notice. The schedule will allow for students to have less screen time as well as opportunities for personalized learning in the afternoon. Your child's teacher will provide you with further details pertaining to their schedule.

The building will be closed until at least Monday, December 21st due to rising cases of COVID-19. If you need to contact any staff member please utilize our school website.

No school November 26th and 27th. Remote Classes Resume on Monday November 30th.
