On Saturday March 26th, Jersey City Public Schools will host the Elementary Spelling Bee and 10:00 A.M. and the Middle School Spelling Bee at 1:00 P.M. We are so excited for Spelling Bee Day!

The Jersey City Public Schools will have an early dismissal today, Friday, February 4, 2022. The early release allows bused students to reach home or the receiving school before the roads become treacherous. Schools will dismiss students at 12:45, and all after-school activities are canceled including CASPER. Our students' safety is a priority.

Our Winter Books Fair was a success! We had all of our students visit and shop the Book Fair. Students were able to purchase books they will enjoy reading. Until next time...happy reading!

Wednesday February 2nd is a Professional Development Day for Staff -1/2 day for Students.

We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair. Hosted by our staff, this event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. As always, all purchases benefit our school.

After missing out on many beloved traditions, our Winter Book Fair will be a familiar, welcome, and safe event for our students. The Book Fair will take place from Monday January 24th - Tuesday February 1st. See you there!

Information is available for parents that can register their child for in school COVID 19 testing. The attachments attached highlight the process for parents. The first day for our students who are registered to be tested will be Wednesday, January 26th.

Wednesday January 12th is a Professional Development Day for Staff -1/2 day for Students.

Please make sure your child logs in and attends their classes virtually.

Deputy Superintendent Dr. Norma Fernandez announced last night the Jersey City Public Schools will remain with virtual instruction for the week of January 10th. Students and staff will report back to school for in person instruction Tuesday, January 18th. Monday, January 17th is the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. No school for students

The COVID 19 testing for students will only take place with parent consent. I have attended several meetings about this upcoming procedure and some final details are still being discussed. When all details are in writing and confirmed I will share that information on how testing for students will work in our school. I understand you may have many questions and concerns. I hope the information I will be sharing in the near future will ease your concerns. My understanding at this time is it will be completely optional to the parents and not mandated.

Due to the inclement weather the staff that regularly reports to school is permitted to work from home today, 1/7/22. Please email concerns to your child’s teacher and they will confirm how we may help from home.
