May Fun Friday with Otto the Auto!!

The Department of Special Education, in collaboration with Jersey City Free Public Library, would like to extend an exciting opportunity to all Jersey City Public School students. All are welcome to participate in Fun Friday. Please join in on Friday, May 13th, at 10 am, join us for a virtual experience as we learn about pedestrian safety skills with AAA and Otto the Auto. Suicide Prevention Information

The New Jersey Youth Suicide Prevention Advisory Council examines needs and services and makes recommendations to the Department of Children and Families (DCF) for youth reporting, prevention, and intervention. The Council also seeks to educate youth and their families about the resources available for
suicide prevention and post-intervention in an effort to reduce the number of incidents of suicide throughout the State.
Many NJ families have little to no awareness about what the NJ Children’s System of Care (CSOC) can offer. Through the DCF, all children and adolescents have access to coordinated mental health support, substance abuse treatment, and services for intellectual and developmental disabilities - regardless of
insurance status. Too many families who deal with struggling youth do not know where to turn and get lost in the myriad of resources. Click on the Link for more information.

SPU Pride Rocks the House at J.W. Wakeman! The support Jersey City shows when one person, one school or a place deep in the roots of the city succeeds brings out the city's best!

Saint Peter's University's Basketball Team's accomplishments last week have brought an excitement into the city that is hard to replicate. We were elated when St. Peter’s University men’s basketball team beat Monmouth University in early March to make the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament. Now fans are at the edge of our seats as our own Jersey City-based team heads into the Sweet 16 round of the tournament, seeking to take another step closer to the championship game (Hudson Reporter).
