Mr. Walker discussed our plans to reopen our schools for the 4th marking period at our most recent Jersey City Board of Education meeting. The presentation Mr. Walker shared included students returning for in person instruction on a hybrid. This plan includes students who opt for in person learning will be split into three groups and rotated accordingly.  The school day will be from 8:30 am until 12:45 pm. dismissal. Join Us on Friday February 19th at 1:30 for a Discussion on Reading and Writing Skills in Pre-k.

February 10th, 2021 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.

You can schedule a conference with your child's teacher to meet during our Virtual School Report Card Afternoon Session from 1:30 - 3:00 PM. Please plan to meet with your child's teacher to review the final marking period grades. Staff will be available virtually during these hours. Your child's report card will be available digitally via the Parent Portal on Infinite Campus (Click here).

The Department of Special Education, in collaboration with Jersey City Free Public Library, would like to extend an exciting opportunity to all Jersey City Public School staff, parents, and students. Each month will focus on unique themes with age-appropriate stories and activities for students.

On Friday, February 5th join us for a Virtual Field Trip to Liberty Science Center.

On Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021, all students begin the third marking period. Students have half-day of classes, and the staff has professional development from 1:30 to 3:45 in the afternoon as we all continue to learn new ways to make learning better for students.
Please continue to encourage your child to work hard. The secret to outstanding achievement is not talent but a unique blend of passion and persistence. It is not a secret when we work hard; we encounter more success. Make sure your child reads for pleasure. For younger children, we ask that you read aloud to them about their favorite topics. It will improve their comprehension as they develop their reading skills. These simple suggestions can make a huge difference.
