Our Grade 5 Student Jayesh Sivaraman Earned Second Place in the Jersey City Public Schools Annual District Elementary Spelling Bee

J.W. Wakeman is proud to announce that Jayesh Sivaraman from Ms. Megaro's grade 5 class placed second in the in the Jersey City Public Schools Annual District Elementary Spelling Bee on March 25th 2023 held at M.S. 7.
He competed at the school level, having won a 10 round battle with a fellow grade five student, ending up our school spelling bee winner. He worked diligently over the several weeks, along with his parents, helping him to study hundreds of words in preparation for the Hudson County and the District Bee!
We are very proud of Jayesh and we look forward to hearing more about his interest in competing next year and thereafter, as he has developed a passion for spelling and competing on national level. We congratulate Jayesh, his family, and his teachers and we wish him luck next year!
